Berkeley’s plan for plastic bag ban is part of a larger movement

Many cities in California have been exploring bans on single-use bags from retail and grocery stores. After attempting a city-wide ban in 2007, the City of Berkeley may now propose a hybrid solution which could include a consumer fee for single-use bags.
