Congratulations to jurisdictions that received a recommendation from the Strategic Growth Council (SGC) staff for a 2010 Sustainable Communities Planning Grant award! The SGC staff received over 188 applications this funding cycle and recommended only 44 of them for funding. The primary goal of the grant program is for municipalities to develop and implement plans that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Awarded projects include climate action plan, targeted general plan updates, specific plans, master plans, and zoning code updates. The recommended awards will be confirmed by the SGC at their December 3, 2010 meeting. A second funding cycle for this program is anticipated in spring 2011.
